I don't know if it's the new version dated the 28th or not but I downloaded,
installed and re-compiled by PHP and it seems that everything is working.
The PHPinfo says that curl support is enabled.
And I configured curl-ssl. There was a fix that was dated the 28th of this
month that said he fixed it so curl would work with earlier versions of
openssl other than 0.9.6, previously it wouldn't do this. Perhaps this was
your problem.
I haven't tried anything yet but it appears to have installed correctly.
