Have you tried sending mail from the command prompt with these machines? Does the same thing happen? If so, you may have some DNS probs. It would seem that PHP is waiting on the underlying mailer to return some type of status code (or finish). Do you experience the same thing with the underlying mail transport agent (sendmail?)? -----Original Message----- From: Joe Stump [mailto:joe@earth.care2.com] Sent: Thursday, October 05, 2000 4:05 PM To: Chronos Cc: php-general@lists.php.net Subject: Re: [PHP] Mail I often experience this on our server if our mailing list is going out (which sends about 1M mails) - but other than the PHP install, quirks with your mail server, or restarting Apache (which usually helps), I'm not sure why this would be occuring. The code looks sane. --Joe On Thu, Oct 05, 2000 at 01:49:29PM -0700, Chronos wrote: > I am new to PHP and have a quick question, > I am setting up an automated reply after a client completes a form using the > following code.. > > ##################### > <?php > mail("$HTTP_POST_VARS[email]", "Registration Recieved", > " > Dear, $HTTP_POST_VARS[name] > > Thank you for your payment. > > Thank you speach here BLA BLA BLA... > > Thank you > myemail@domain.com > ", > "From: myemail@domain.com"); > ?> > #################### > > It works fine on one of my servers, but it is extremly SLOOOOWW on one of > the other servers. > Is this somthing that is wrong with the code or the server?
