Can PHP be compiled as static into Apache but still allow for other modules to be utilized via the DSO mechanism?Thank you Rasmus for the very quick response, I was a bit surprised how quick the answer came back! So before I go through this all again can you let me know if I have the configures correct to compile PHP static into Apache but also allow me to use other modules: [root@www apache_1.3.14]# ./configure \Why do you need to do the configure twice on the apache anyhow?Because one of the Apache header files that PHP needs is not created until you have run Apache's configure script once. This is of course only the case for a static PHP build (--with-apache as opposed to --with-apxs)
--prefix=/usr/local/apache \[root@www php-4.0.3pl1]# ./configure \
--prefix=/usr/local \ --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql \ --with-apache=/usr/local/etc/apache_1.3.14 \ --enable-track-vars \ --enable-trans-sid \ --with-xml[root@www apache_1.3.14]# ./configure \
--activate-module=src/modules/php4/libphp4.a \ --enable-module=php4 \ --prefix=/usr/local/apache \ --enable-module=soWill this create the directory I put "*.so" modules into? /usr/lib/apache/ Michael -- _/ _/ _/ _/ Michael Collins _/ _/ _/ Equinox Enterprises _/ _/ Seattle, WA, USA _/ mcollins206@home.com
