In order to solve the problem about apxs, I have done it in other way. Now, I have installed Apache 1.3.12 into my server located in /www, but I already have the bundled Apache run which is stored in /etc/httpd (i guess, coz i found conf files). Anyway, I followed all instruction listed below: gunzip apache_1.3.x.tar.gz tar xvf apache_1.3.x.tar gunzip php-3.0.x.tar.gz tar xvf php-3.0.x.tar cd apache_1.3.x ./configure --prefix=/www cd ../php-3.0.x ./configure --with-mysql --with-apache=../apache_1.3.x --enable-track-vars make make install cd ../apache_1.3.x ./configure --prefix=/www --activate-module=src/modules/php3/libphp3.a ( i change php4/libphp4.a, coz i downloaded verison 4) make make install cp php3.ini-dist /usr/local/lib/php3.ini So the remaing seems to be edit httpd.conf, that is inserting line as below: Load Module php4_module libexec/libphp4.so AddModule mod_php4.c AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .php3 Do u think it is enough for me to complete the installation, on the other hand, I must make sure the new version of Apache installed into /www have the exact setting currently using, what is ur sugestion, is it i hv to insert lines that are missing from /www/conf/httpd.conf with /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf Pls advise me for it,.
