Homesite:
1. Extensible toolbars - I cannot even write in this email all that you can
do with them!
2. Server mappings so you can execute code right inside Homesite without
having to ALT-TAB to the browser.
3. Code Snippets..talk about "click and code"!
4. Projects, and source versioning control
5. File filtering while listing
6. Customizable color coding
7. Collapsible code
8. one click integration with dreamweaver which doesnt add convoluted,
proprietary tags to my HTML. In fact I can add my own validations etc and
"code-sweep" for accuracy!
9. Can easily extend it to understand and to include support for any kind
of language including HDML, cXML, WML, ISML (Intershop) etc..which would
include tag auto-completion, coloring, validations etc.
Have you seen the Homesite OPTIONS --> SETTINGS? A tool is as powerful as
you make it. Visual Studio? Have you ever had a maintenance contract for the
code that you authored with InterDev?
Not meaning to be derogatory here, really, but its difficult to believe that
some one actually compares Visual Studio with Homesite! For any scripting
based web development, I guess V.Studio doesnt even flit by my horizon of
products!
Just my 0.02,
Shanx

| I use Dreamweaver for it's "site" abilities only. All my coding's done
| either in VisualStudio 6 or xemacs. Homesite's a lot like VisualStudio,
| but just not quite as refined, though they have pretty colors
| on the tags.
