To tell you the truth, you shouldn't disable the back button even if you
could, which I'm not sure you can. Try using session vars, cookies, or
something like that for checking where your user is in the process and
directing them to the correct form.

Subject: [PHP] stopping back button
I have a script that has several forms that return to the same file with
PHP_SELF How can I keep users from using the back button and re-entering
data into a form that they have already used once?
thanks in advance,
