ahhh yes... the ubiquitous Ultradev/PHP question...
While I know of many Dreamweaver and PHP users who would LOVE to see PHP
support in Ultradev (including myself), it appears Macromedia has no
interest/intent of doing so. As an occasional visitor to Macromedia's
Ultradev newsgroup, I see the question come up frequently. I could probably
put together a list of the "Top 10 Reasons Why Macromedia Won't Include PHP
Support In Ultradev", but as you might guess, these reasons will prove
illogical. The only reasonable response I've heard is that PHP support in
Ultradev will need to come from within the PHP community, i.e., someone/some
group will need to develop PHP extensions/plug-ins for Ultradev.
I would love for this to happen and, if I were more adept with PHP, would
try to develop something myself. Perhaps now is the time to officially
commission this sort of project to the PHP community? I'm certainly
interested. Any takers?
