Andrew,
Thanks for the reply.
1. I am using SQL driver...
2. DSN is configured.
3. I am unclear on this, my setup is MS SQL 7 on a W2K Server, running IIS 5
and PHP 4.0.
Thanks,
jb

Check the PHP-ODBC HOWTO at www.iodbc.org.
I'm in the process of revising it for PHP4, but you may find it helpful.
Things that jump out are:
1. what driver are you using?
2. have you configured your DSNs?
3. have you passed the appropriate envrionment variables (ODBCINSTINI,
ODBCINI, LD_LIBRARY_PATH) in?
Best regards,
Andrew
