Yes, it works OK when you once set the view you like and then continue to
view the messages without changing the view.
I also choice the conversations when I need to search for something however
with my 256 MB it takes like 5 seconds to change the current view. I can't
do that too often. no win can... I guess you need at least 512 to play with
the folder more freely.
Now here's an advice: (I guess many of you already have set a rule which
would move the messages with subjects containing [PHP]) but it is also cool
to flag the messages for follow up when your domain is somewhere in the
message header. It makes it easy to see the messages which were also cc to
you, plus when you search for something you know you once asked, it is
enough to sort the flagged messages.

Then you need a better PC. I bounce between "group by conversation" and
normal view in mailboxes with 10-30k messages all the time. It takes about
two seconds max.
