I don't agree. In certain situations where the same goal is trying to
be accomplished, like deciding which font tag to use based on browser
type (or something along those lines), server side scripting is always
more reliable. The point is doing something that can be done either
server side or client side.

You know 100% what your web server can do (or your should), the client
has no choice but to accept the data you send to it.
2 client side)
On the other hand, a client side script trying to do the same thing
NEVER works 100% of the time. This is true because I guarantee you
that at least 1 person/browser in the world has that specific client
side scripting language turned off or not in use.
My rule is when doing something that can be done either client or
server side, always default to doing it server side because it
gives you greater compatibility, thus reliability.
