Ok, let me rephrase this question:
I need to write a program to monitor network packets. The OS is Linux. In
this specific case I'll be monitoring packet traffic on a hub, but I'd like to
do it in a more general fashion, just in case the unthinkable happens, and
someone changes their mind. :) How would I go about getting started with this?
