Well.. Maybe I'm closer. I don't want a user interface/interaction. Ideally, the unix user would invoke something like this: doit field1,field2,field3..... and the result would be 42 Which would mean something to the user. Two rules I can't break: The user can't see the data in the database, or convince the tool to give it to him. The user can't see/alter the algorithms.
