] Try to look on netcraft.com, though I don't know if it sorts by ] numbers. Hmm... didn't seem to find anything specific about PHP. Lots of great information about webservers. I'll probably check out the faq and if there isn't anything specific, I'll fire off an e-mail to them to see if I can get the data. ] One thing for you to consider is that a single non-upgraded shared ] server (like those web hosts for 20$ a month) are having a hell bunch ] of sites and every and each of their users are ] 1. usually with few money to invest in development, ] 2. have PHP3 installed by their hosts (hopefully not in a safe mode ] and with some db usage allowed) and are in need of finding good and ] solid Open Source php software for their business need. ] Yup, that still happens often. Haha... you actually just described me and the work I do :) For about a year now I've been working with a web hosting company that fits the description above. Together we've been doing custom stuff for companies and people looking for some interesting things for their site but don't have a great deal of money to throw at it. Its been great as the complexity of the projects has kept pretty much in line with my learning curve. The first project was a roster for a stock car race track so they can keep track of a drivers points from race to race and have a sorted standings page for their website plus an admin backended with mysql. Something simple and considering at that point my experience with PHP was that I had read an article in a magazine everything worked out great. And now I've just finished my biggest project to date, a content management system for a state level political party -- news and informatoin, multimedia managment, the whole bit. Joel
