I get this too on my search engine script when trying to open a URL using the
file command. This happens when the URL you enter is either not there (server
replies with 404), or it redirects to another location, in which case no data is
returned from the remote server other than HTTP headers.
You can also use something like $filetext = join("",
file("http://file.to.open/file.txt"));
and that may do it if fopen isnt capable of opening remote files. =)
