Owen, PHP knocks spots off ASP in both performance and speed of development. I don't know why, but PHP just seems more user friendly. I also don't seem to get the problems I used to get when developing ASP. The bottom line is choosing a development platform will depend on what you want to do with it. If you want to use COM and Distributed Transactions use ASP other wise PHP is the choice of a new generation (where have I heard that before?)
