I don't get the errors when I use Gtk::FILE_CHOOSER_ACTION_OPEN which is the only other legal action for GtkFileChooserButton. When I switch to GtkFileChooserDialog I get a new set of errors about setting a parent for a toplevel window. (I'll open another bug for that one after I confirm that I am not doing anything crazy) GtkFileChooserWidget starts up without any errors at all. Scott
