:) Hi, Kirk I need the WINDIR\php.ini for php as an apache module I am, as it happens, a dill anyway (hear hear( I hear)) , the php.ini that I was referencing from the command line was a dodgy one in the first place - (a copy of my normal one ::so it was pointing includes and extensions everywhere) So, by dumping everything in one directory , this command line worked fine , as did substituting php_win.exe c:\GTK051\php.exe -q -c c:\GTK051\php.ini -f e:\GTK\samples\tree.php at least it appears to work, I am kinda scared to reboot now :) Manual writers ...., stuff like this, just getting started, seems to be the biggest problem for most of us dull windows users (like myself) - I get a lot of mail about GTK & PHP and a lot of peeps are interested but can not get off the ground, not even a hello world. that's as most of win32 users interested in php-gtk have php already installed as an apache module - that's cos they are php heads, that's why they want to look at php-gtk .... Soooo ... if they follow the instructions and dump dll's in system32 & .ini's in WINNDIR\ etc things start to go horribly wrong for both php-gtk && apache/php , is it then actually a good idea to describe the install as per current readme / dir structure ??? - seems to me that dumping everything in the one directory with a very inoffensive php.ini and a batch file for starting one of the samples !!! showing the existence of the -c switch !!!would be more useful (for windows heads) ?? sorry for my erroneous initial post :o Regards, Simon Wheeler firepages ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kirk Babb" <kbcd@worldnet.att.net> To: "firepages.com.au" <fire@firepages.com.au> Sent: Wednesday, May 01, 2002 10:48 PM Subject: Re: [PHP-GTK] new errors with 0.5.1 on Win2k & XP > Could you keep the ini files in each respective directory instead of one in > the winnt dir (for the official php distribution) and one in php-gtk dir? > does your environmental path include the "main" php dir?
