I am by no means and expert but I just did my first install of PHP-GTK on a win2K box running Apache 1.3.24. I had gotten Apache and PHP 4.2 running last week in conjunction with MySQL. Everything seems to be going great there. I then DL'd the GTK installer and read through the manual. I placed the GTK.exe in my c:\apache\php directory where the php.exe is and put the other dll's in the directories specified in the docs. When I went to run the hello world example I got pop up errors stating that the system couldn't find certain libraries that I know I had installed. So upon further looking I noticed that I had left an older copy of my php.ini in the c:\apache\php directory and the gtk.exe was trying to use that php.ini instead of the c:\winnt\php.ini that my Apache/PHP web server uses. After I cleaned up the second php.ini gtk worked like a champ. I also tried to run GTK by just renaming the php.ini in the c:\apache\php directory and it did work. I chose to edit the php.ini in the php directory so I can run GTK with a different setup from my web server. Maybe that will work for you. -Sean Collier FirePoppy, Inc. -----Original Message----- From: firepages.com.au [mailto:fire@firepages.com.au] Sent: Wednesday, May 01, 2002 7:21 AM To: Frank M. (from a command window). example ... c:\php4\php.exe -q -c c:\php4\php.ini -f c:\php4\test\hello.php I have tried ALL combinations :) with php.exe and php_win.exe and with and without switches etc.. Can you clarify if and how I can specify an alternate php.ini to the winnt\php.ini ? it would really help at the moment, the best result I have had is a 'could not open input' error from the hello script in test (after warnings related to my winnt\php.ini).
