Have you tried putting your \php4 directory in your path *BEFORE* c:\WINNT? If I remember
correctly, PHP looks for php.ini in the PATH first, then in c:\WINNT, and then in the current
directory. (I could be wrong on this...) This also gets confusing because c:\winnt is often in the
path already.
Anyway, my 2 cents... This always works for me, but I'm using Win2k.

Hi again
still problems with 0.5.1for me
even when I dump everything in one directory (which worked a beaut with
0.5.0) I have no joy,
apart from anything else I can not get this version of php to ignore the
c:\winnt\php.ini - I have been using (after help from this list) the -c
switch to push php to use a seperate specified php.ini, this does not appear
to work at the moment... and php_win.exe just gives me a screen dump ??
(from a command window).
example ... c:\php4\php.exe -q -c c:\php4\php.ini -f c:\php4\test\hello.php
I have tried ALL combinations :) with php.exe and php_win.exe and with and
without switches etc..
Can you clarify if and how I can specify an alternate php.ini to the
winnt\php.ini ? it would really help at the moment, the best result I have
had is a 'could not open input' error from the hello script in test (after
warnings related to my winnt\php.ini).
Regards,
Simon Wheeler

the official release of PHP in one and the lates PHP-GTK in another
