I don't know if this helps any, but I recently ported a PHP4/GTK1 app to
MacOSX. I tried fink and Macports, and had varying degrees of success, until
I gave up on precompiled binaries, and compiled everything (gtk, php, etc)
into a separate folder.
Then I was able to get it to work. You are certainly welcome to use my build
scripts, if it helps:
