Okay. Some of what I use: 1. http://cweiske.de/phpgtk.htm - Christian's site. A must, of course. 2. http://www.mithril.ca/code/php-gtk+/mp3_gtk/ - MediaCat MP3 player. An app I still swear by, as a good place for newbies to see code for a working app, with DB calls, and organized layout. I believe Andrei used it as a demo at a conference in 2000 or 2001. 3. http://www.agata.org.br/us/index.php?file=home.php# - Agata Report. Another great app - cross platform report writer. I've never gotten the english link to work, but then I've never had the Portuguese bother me much either. Code seems to be code. 3. http://www.sitepoint.com/article/platform-windowed-apps-php - Building Cross-Platform Apps w/PHP. A short, but helpful 'getting started' tutorial. 4. http://www.rixsoft.com/gimpwin/gtk-themes.html - Win32 themes. A mini HowTo on the whole concept of GIMP and Win32 themes. 5. http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/ and http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/gtk/index.html - The Gtk ref manuals. I always go here when I need an in-depth explanation for a widget or callback or whatever. 6. http://wingtk.sourceforge.net/ - Win32 Glade. 7. http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/PHP/Mail - Mailing List archive. I know everybody brings up MARC, but I find it hard to read and harder to print. This one works much better for me, and seems to be up to date, as a rule. Also, the advanced search is better. 8. For the PHP-Gtk2 side, definitely bring up Scott's book. Also an essential. Hope that helps. Will send along more if I think of them. Madeleine D. Ryan Huff wrote:
Well, depending on the snippet / tutorial it might be mostly backwards compatible (just have to note where depreciation occurs or change the few things that aren't supported). Anything will help. On 11/1/06, Madeleine D. <mmdrake@bctonline.com> wrote:
Ryan - Sorry - I meant PHP-Gtk2 vs PHP-Gtk1. As a Gtk1 developer, I have links for that, but not for Gtk2. Madeleine D. Ryan Huff wrote:
Madeleine,
By no means, 'limited'. The core content will center around PHP
but I want the GTK2 extension to get just as much (or more) publicity. I
also
want to throw in some PECL forums/support and some PEAR forums/support to.
It wouldn't be complete if I didn't have a spot for the
Penguin, so
there will be some *nix forums/support as well.
There is also going to be a huge code repository (all GNU stuff).

Ryan - Great idea, but I wonder... are you going to limit it to PHP-Gtk2
stuff
only? Makes sense to me, but it should be clear up front. Madeleine D. Ryan Huff wrote:
I am launching (within the next month or so) a new support site geared towards PHP(similar to nyphp.com themed after the US state I live in). In addition to PHP support Q/A, I want to equally promote the GTK extension . I feel that for as long as PHP-GTK has been around it's at least
20%-30%
less-known than PHP itself, even by PHP users. Primarily I think, because PHP first hit the scene as a web language and that's what everyone associates it with. My number 2 reason is because there just isn't
any
MAJOR community contributions to PHP-GTK, unlike there is for PHP. I want to bring as much 'buzz' to the GTK extension as I and my team possibly can. One way I am going to do this is to promote PHP-GTK in as much light as PHP (if not more) on my up & coming website. Before I do that, I want to gather as much quality info on PHP-GTK as I can. I need help from the community; I would like as many resources as people can recall on PHP-GTK. Obviously, I already have the manual and there are going to be plenty of link-backs to php.net | gtk.php.net. I NEED: Any web site where PHP-GTK is explained, referenced or displayed. Any sites with code snipets (I am building a repository). Any php-gtk blogs, journals, podcasts, audio, vidoe .. etc Thanks, -Ryan
