I have solved my problem. Perhaps others can benefit from my experience.
The instructions say:-
" file permissions on your php script, php.exe, php4ts.dll, php.ini or any php
extensions you are trying to load are such that the anonymous internet user
ISUR_<machinename> can access them."
I had permission set for Document Root as well as PHP directories but Apache was still not parsing php scripts.
Finally I did this for the Apache application root directory and it worked! There are no php bits in the directory Program Files/Apache Group/Apache! Personally I am not sure why this is needed. Apache was writing log files there before I changed the file permissions. Why does it need access here for the anonymous internet user?
