This is wrong. Autoconf is not supposed to run this way.

configure and compile as described in the PHP4 INSTALL file. Be sure to include --with-pam in your configure options.

Read README.SELF-CONTAINED-EXTENSION. You may be able to compile it as a *.so. BTW, unless module is modified for 4.1.x, module will not work with 4.1.x. -- Yasuo Ohgaki
