PHP and Virtual Hosts

I've got PHP installed and working but it seems that .php files can be
executed in any web directory. What I want is the ability to enable and
disable PHP within the directory section of my Virtual Hosts, something like
this:
<VirtualHost mydomain.com>
...
<Directory /xxx/xxx/xxx>
Options Includes ExecCGI PHPenable
</Directory>
</VirtualHost>
Is this possible?
