problem migrating from php3 to php4

I'm upgrading php3 to php4 and apache 1.3.4 to 1.3.14 on a FreeBSD 2.2.8 machine
apache is working fine, and php4 installed fine, but when I try to run a
test script
whose code "<?php php_info() ?>"
I get the following error
"Warning: Failed opening '/usr/local/www/htdocs/test.php' for inclusion
(include_path='') in Unknown on line 0"
Any advice? Thanks in advance for your help
