Patches are still a hassle to maintain, especially if you're mixing two of them running it on the same code. THey also need updating often due to changes in the distribution. Thinks like that are annoying, although I don't see a better solution for this now (except by doing it the kernel way and use --enable-expirental-foo for example). Or just don't expose --enable-experimental-foo option but make it possible
by changing a simple #define somewehere. As it is possible to move with one change from Zend's MM to libc malloc() and company. Andrey
