I suggest that somebody contacts the mirror admin and tell them to
upgrade the mirrors by us helping them and not forwarding them to other
lists.
I have already contacted the mirror maintainers with PHP < 4.1.0 set up (you can see my letter in the archives, as it was cc-ed to this list too).
I also suggest the same has to be done with htdig (if we stick with it)
and that all mirrors should have it.
It is not clear whether htdig, mnogo or external search solutions (google/alltheweb/yahoo) will be the long term method of supporting site searches. I would vote for mnogo and Cece, the maintainer of hu2.php.net is already working on fine tuning some setup instructions to help maintainers set search support up. And there were others (eg. Jacques), who said they are on the subject. We can provide more features with mnogo, with any other solution.

I would be happy to help in any case I can. But I have no experience in setting up PHP on different platforms. All the times I had set up PHP, I only hit some small problems, and I solved them shortly. But I never needed any exotic stuff, most of the time I used the default setup.
So I won't be able to help, and I beleive pointing to a place where they can get help is better, than saying: "I can't help you, period".
