New Comment:
It is not obfuscated, but rather compressed. We also link to the
original uncompressed files on our search page, so you can get the
source if you want. The script would be more than double its size, if
it would not be compressed. It is done to get the script to our users
as quickly as possible and use less bandwidth.

This problem is not restricted to WinXP/Opera. The .js code itself has
all the hallmark of an exploit script, inefficiently attempting to
obfuscate the code rather than normal "readable" javascript. The error,
as reported by Mozilla 1.7.3 (Win32) is:
Error: dcp is not defined
Source File: http://www.php.net/functions.js
Line: 2
Of course, "line 2" is of no use as the code is all on one or two
lines...
The issue only appears after a search has been performed.

Up until about ten minutes ago, I was having this problem in Firefox
1.0 on Windows. I disabled JavaScript, and the page worked. I
re-enabled JavaScript, its working again. I presume something has been
changed, hooray! :)

I think the problem occurs because the file
http://www.php.net/functions.js uses the
document.write() method after
the page has finished loading, but it never calls document.close(). So
the browser just sits there waiting. document.write(), if called after
the document finishes loading, erases the contents of the document and
replaces them, so that's probably not what you want anyway.

I can report it is happening with mozilla, and firefox, as well as IE
in certain places. The IE bug is slightly different but I assume
related, if I try to use the search functionality on the front page, I
am greated with endless script error messages that crash IE. It starts
by simply putting the cursor in the search text box.

I'm pointing duplicates to this bug for the generic "Javascript"
problem, goba, since it's starting to get talked about at the end of
this thread and this bug is already assigned to you.
