Installed on Windows XP: Apache 2.0.44 with PHP 4.3.1.
In loading PHP as an Apache module, I didn't find it necessary to place .dlls in
%SYSTEMROOT%\system32, or mess with a php.ini file.
Compiled and installed Apache source. Started and stopped to verify operation.
Downloaded PHP zip, moved the following files:
c:\tmp\php-4.3.1-Win32\sapi\php4apache2.dll
c:\tmp\php-4.3.1-Win32\php4ts.dll
To <apachedir>\modules\
Updated httpd.conf with:
LoadModule php4_module modules/php4apache2.dll
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
Didn't even need a LoadFile "<apachedir>/modules/php4ts.dll" line. Worked on
first try.
