If you're looking to do a WAMP 1.4.4 install (Apache 1.*, MySql 4.*, PHP 4.*), there's a
great article for doing a "low impact" install at http://www.circaware.com/articles.php?id=2
The article is designed for installing to a USB stick, but it could be your hard drive as well.
What's nice is it doesn't require installing any NT services or modifying any files under
your Windows directory or your System directory.
Plus if you're a state fair fan, the article title is "WAMP on a Stick". I guess
they can put anything on a stick.
