[PHPDocumentor] No package.xml

Hi all! When i try "pear install phpdocumentor" it say's "warning : you are using an archive with an old format \n no package.xml file after extracting the archive". Shouldn't there be one (the PEAR-Website says so...)? Thanx for help!
