If you can set the include path it should be pretty easy to 'install' PEAR. You could indeed try the (new) webinstaller, this would be great if it works, but if it doesn't, it's still easy. Just download the packages you want (from http://pear.php.net/packages.php or CVS), and extract them to you local HD in an empty directory 'PEAR'. Look inside each package for the package.xml file for details on where to put it in the tree, although it should be obvious. Then upload the entire PEAR directory to your webserver, you could just put it in your wwwroot folder (/home/username/wwwroot/PEAR, so it would be accessible as www.somehost.com/PEAR), or you can put it even below this folder if you've got access there (/home/username/PEAR, and your www might be in /home/username/wwwroot). In you php files, just set the include_path with ini_set() each time you want to use PEAR. Regards, Stijn de Reede
