While working on the setup script, I just read this nice PEAR setup
tutorial:

Anyone with a osX station can test it and confirm this is a correct and
functionnal way ?
Another interested point is how work the ENV variable on osX ?
The global ENV, local (user) ENV ?
How can you set it and how the system takes care of it ?
