You should not (except if you´re being paid exceptionally good for
doing it :-))

That´s exactly why I expressed my concern that the PFC-RFC did not
mention a solution for that particular problem. If a solution is found,
PEAR will be all you ask for: Just stick to the PFC and if you don´t
find anything fitting there, you have a whole bunch of unapproved
classes you can dig through...
