Hi, I started some discussion about this a while back. I would like to get together a PEAR meeting where we can discuss the latest proposals and the future direction of PEAR in general. I think that the PHP Con in Amsterdam will get together a fair amount of PEAR people. We also got a generous offer for a meeting room that could hold about 20 people IIRC that has good net connection (video conferencing would even be possible). This way people, that don't go to the PHP Con for various reasons but are willing to go to Amsterdam for this meeting, could also participate. So I would like to get some serious "hand raising" of people that would be there. To kick things off here is mine *waves his hand*. I will not be there for the PHP Con but I would drive to Amsterdam for a PEAR meeting.
I won't be able to go to Amsterdam but I've never done video-conferencing, that would be interesting :) Will you make one ? What are the requirements ? Bertrand Mansion Mamasam Hi,
I was the person who offered a meeting room + vidcon facilities in Amsterdam. The idea was to have as many people as possible present in the same room. Videoconferencing gets messy if you let more than say 4 people join. Not all people have proper vidcon equipment but will want some way to participate. I thought of the following: We could broascast (stream) the meeting and then people on the Internet can hear & see the people in the room. They can participate using chat software which I could project on a big screen in the meeting room. That could work and it doesn't require any special equipment or outrageous amounts of bandwith. What do think of this idea? Jeroen
