We could broascast (stream) the meeting and then people on the Internet
can hear & see the people in the room. They can participate using chat
software which I could project on a big screen in the meeting room. That
could work and it doesn't require any special equipment or outrageous
amounts of bandwith.
What do think of this idea?
Jeroen
I think it's great. What kind of software do you plan to use for stream and
chat ? For video, I have tested Quicktime Streaming Server (free and works
on Linux), it's easy to install and setup, there is a web interface. There
is also Sorenson Broadcaster but that's not free AFAIK.
Hi Bertrand
We have windows media 9 for our archived presentations and our live webcam. I can see that would be a problem with Linux desktop users though. I can ask our sysadmin to set QT up if it's free, he's not here to ask right now though.
But those are all details, we first have to see if there are enough people willing to come to Amsterdam, because there's no point broadcasting Lukas and me sitting in an empty meeting room together (no offense Lukas ;-)
I think we should have at least 5 prominent PEAR developers there to make it worthwhile and so far we only have Lukas.

Jeroen
