This error seems to crop up every once in a while:
C:\>pear list-all
<B>XML_RPC_Value</B>: scalar can have only one value<BR>The package list could not be fetched from the remote server. Please try again. (Debug info: "0")
Might give someone a clue as to why this happens.
BTW, I am now using the PEAR install with PHP 4.2.2 (which is what my local apache also uses) so as to be sure that the snapshop isn't having any effect on this.
So far, the only difference I can see, is that my script is being run from PHP as Apache module (win32 so still really using the php.exe, right?) and the pear.bat is using the actual php.exe.
Weird.
I've now removed my old install of PEAR totally (I had it installed in my docroot/PEAR so as I could use the web interface as the pear.bat wasn't working) just to be sure it (PEAR_Info) *is* using the PEAR installed by the snapshot go-pear.bat, which it is. btw it reports a PEAR version of 1.1 now instead of 1.0.1 (nice to see it works :)

OK, I have checked my script, I've looked at the code I use and the code Remote.php uses, theres no difference... except Remote.php can't get the data and my script can. I'm gonna dig deeper. - Davey Davey wrote:OK, now I have problems with the listing in PEAR, it cannot get the packages list. (for list-all only) Heres whats happening: C:\>pear list-all The package list could not be fetched from the remote server. Please try again. (Debug info: "0") my PEAR config is as follows: C:\>pear config-show CONFIGURATION: ==============PEAR executables directory bin_dir C:\php4 PEAR documentation directory doc_dir C:\php4\pear\docs PHP extension directory ext_dir C:\PROGRA~1\Zend\lib\php_extPEAR directory php_dir C:\php4\pear PEAR Installer cache directory cache_dir C:\\DOCUME~1\\Davey\\LOCALS~1\\Temp\pear\cachePEAR data directory data_dir C:\php4\pear\data PHP CLI/CGI binary php_bin c:\php4\php.exe PEAR test directory test_dir C:\php4\pear\tests Cache TimeToLive cache_ttl 3600 Preferred Package State preferred_state stable Unix file mask umask 0 Debug Log Level verbose 1 HTTP Proxy Server Address http_proxy <not set> PEAR server master_server pear.php.net PEAR password (for password <not set>maintainers)Signature Handling Program sig_bin c:\gnupg\gpg.exe Signature Key Directory sig_keydir c:\php4\pearkeys Signature Key Id sig_keyid <not set> Package Signature Type sig_type gpg PEAR username (for username <not set>maintainers) Just a note, I don't *have* GPG installed... I know that my remote server using FBSD and PHP 4.3.1 can reach the same pear server, as can my PEAR_Info script which gets its info in a similar fashion to 'list-all'. Will now check if the script can get the info where the pear.bat can't - Davey Edin Kadribasic wrote:Many people doubted that this day will ever come, but finally we do have PEAR installer and basic packages bundled with PHP Windows snapshots. This will hopefully be the model for bundling PEAR in the upcoming PHP 4.3.2 so any help in testing the bundle will be greatly appreciated. Edin
