Hey everyone,
I've taken over maintenance of HTML_Page and HTML_Select (both deleted in /php4/pear because
they were orphaned). Now... I don't want to make anyone who's using these packages mad.
So, I'd like to allow them to install the package with the knowledge that this is just a legacy
release.
So far, I've come up with two options:
1) release the existing code as 1.0 stable (as in the original source) and then release the new
version (with BC-break) as 2.0
or
2) release the current as a 0.1 alpha, so that people don't get fooled into installing it. But
that's a bit of a problem because the original file that was bundled with PHP claims to be
version 1.0
Of course, I could tell the existing users to upgrade their code, but that wouldn't be exactly
friendly. And I don't want to have to support the old API in my new release.
Any thoughts?
Klaus
