I'm toying with writing one of these - now that gtkcanvas is working, the plan was to use something like SVG with embedded XMI metadata - although the first target was to get mdb_Designer working with canvas. and get gtksheet to edit stuff.
have anyone got any good links to the XMI specifically for UML - XMI appears to be a general metadata storage schema - unless I missed something.
Regards
Alan

great idea to bundle UML with the packages. i also think that we should look for a tool, which will be able to do round-trip-engineering. otherwise we will be stuck one day. As far as I know XMI is the standard format for saving UML diagrams, so in the first go i would say every tool that uses XMI is the right one. If there is already one that does round-trip-engineering even better. Then we would also not depend on the tool anymore, but just on the file format, which would be great i think. But i read (never tried it) that XMI is used by many tools, but the compatiblity of the outcome is not the same in every tool, which i dont really understand if it is a standard ... but anyway, that's what i read. btw. i am using Umbrello, but actually just to draw the class diagrams. But i know round trip engineering is in the plan for it. my 2 cents-- Can you help out? Need Consulting Services or Know of a Job? http://www.akbkhome.com
