What I see is: - DB: unified API for DB access which target is RAD small/medium web proyects. - MDB: real and feature-full abstraction layer targeted to complex apps. There is no "fight" each other :-) To be more clear with what "new ideas" means, is to _test_ a change to the Lite concept (less features, easy use, fast), not really to implement new features (don't worry, I'm not comming with radical and crazy changes). But before starting playing with that, I want to clean the bug database and run by myself the regression tests on the new backends I got access to. About the future, no idea. What I see in the stats is that there are more than 60k users who downloaded DB, so DB will live all the time the users use it. IMHO people should take it in the same way as Cache and Cache_Lite do in Pear. Tomas V.V.Cox
