I sent this yesterday, but think our mail server's in a huff. Apologies if you receive it twice.
Hi,
I'm working on a set of abstraction classes to make the coming switch
from PHP4's DOMXML extension to PHP5's DOM as painless as possible.
I'm wondering (actually hoping ;) someone in the wonderful land of PEAR
is doing it already. If not, I'd be happy to put together a package
proposal.
Basically there will be base classes for each of the DOM classes
(domNode, domDocument, domElement, etc), with factory methods that will
enable users to use domxml, dom, or maybe even the current XMLTree
packages. All methods conform to the 'studly' naming conventions of the
DOM spec.
Eventually I want do the same for XSL, XPath, etc.
Is there interest in this? Is anyone else doing the same thing?
Matt
