Hi,
I am having a bit of trouble with our PEAR packages that handle with
building tree structures of XML documents.
XML_Tree
I got XML_Tree working after looking at how its used in LiveUser. And
from what I saw it does the trick, but not with a very convenient
interface if you want to jump deeper into the tree structure.
Sidenote: this got me thinking that it would be nice to find a list of
all packages that use a given package. Especially in this case this was
the only useful documentation I found with which I could actually build
a little app.
XPath
Next I tried XPath and found the examples to be not working. It seems
that atleast the get_class calls are bugged, since get_class always
returns lowercase (was it different at some point?), yet those values
where compared with mixed case strings. Fixing that still didn't solve
the issues though. Could it be that this package is suffering from BC
issues?
Tree
After a bit of mangling I also got this package to work. However the
"docs" at phpkitchensink didn't really touch on the use with XML as much
as I would have liked, nor did it make the array structure obvious to
me.
I just wanted to share my experience. I will probably try to spend some
more time on this but I wanted to see if maybe someone else has the same
problems and/or even a solution.
Regards,
Lukas Smith
