Of course you can't use symlinks in a virtual host environment. All I wanted
to say is that virtual hosts always have the problem of making one install
available to all host and normally do this by using Alias entries for their
host settings.
This is nothing PEAR or the PEAR installer has to deal with. The hosters
just will install the docroot files to a place where they install all their
other shared web software.
