I have been trying for awhile now to get APC installed on my FreeBSD
box. I notice in the INSTALL file that it has been successfully
compiled on FreeBSD so I assume I am missing something obvious.
Here's what I get when I attempt to install the quick and easy way.
pear install apc
downloading APC-2.0.tgz ...
...done: 43,107 bytes
34 source files, building
running: phpize
autoconf: Undefined macros:
configure.in:76:AC_PROG_LIBTOOL
`phpize' failed
I have played around with trying to get it installed by following the
INSTALL directions but I can't seem to get around the undefined macro
AC_PROG_LIBTOOL.
I am pretty spoiled with the FreeBSD ports collection so I am not used
to having to use the autoconf stuff directly.
Has anyone out there had these troubles? Any clues would be greatly
appreciated. I have googled this quite a bit, but still no luck.
Thanks in advance for your time. I am using FreeBSD 4.8-RELEASE with
PHP 4.3.3. I can provide more information upon request.
