Hi, all --
At <http://pear.php.net/manual/en/developers.release.packaging.php> in talking about the "pear package" command it states:
pear package <package definition XML file> This will create the release tarball (gzipped if zlib support is present) that will be used later to upload the new release.Which is fine. However, if Packager Bob has gzip and Developer Sue does not, Developer Sue cannot un-gzip the package. I have run into this problem with some users of Savant <http://phpsavant.sourceforge.net> my non-compiling PHP-is-the-template-language template system. Is there a switch for "pear package" to only tar and not gzip? Thanks. :-) -- pmj
