Tomas, Stig und I dicuss this last night on irc. First we detect that
$ext_dir = (isset($ext_dir)) ? $ext_dir : PEAR_EXTENSION_DIR; in pear.in
crashes PHP...
So i propose this way for installing PEAR for Win:
- the php installer or the user have to set an enviroment variable PHP_PATH
- in php4/pear/scripts are placed pear.bat and pearwin.php
pearwin.php is pear.in without the shebang and including some defines
define( PEAR_INSTALL_DIR, "set/the/path");
define( PEAR_EXTENSION_DIR, "set/the/path");
- the user have to edit this defines before use
Not very comfortable, but this seems to be the easiest way to do
pear package HTTP_Upload/package.xml
pear install HTTP_0.6.tgz
on Win
