Solution 2. may be acceptable, but as there are dozens of PEAR developers who are comfortable with the current structure and only few who complain, I don't see a point in forcing it. As Martin Jansen pointed out, you are not required to use the PEAR CVS repository, you can use your own one and have any structure you like there.
Are you serious? Martin is suggesting, and you are advocating, that it is easier and less confusing to figure out how to check things out from another CVS repository and then figure out their "different" (by one or two directories!) directory structure! It makes no sense to me, since you're going to have to deal with a different structure anyway, so why not just keep it in PEAR CVS? This is not intended as a flame, I just thought the point was to encourage people to use PEAR CVS unless they had a /real/ reason not to. -- Marshall Roch http://pear.php.net/user/mroch
