Packages in PEAR will start migrating to the new PHP 5
object model at their own pace. I know that PHPUnit
and MDB (another database abstraction layer) are
migrating some of the code to PHP5 (using a branch of
the CVS code).
Not sure about PEAR::DB, I am cc'ing this message to
the pear-dev list so you might get a better response
from the maintainers.
