I would be very interested in your multi-byte enabled code. I am working on a Japanese localization project and need to display Japanese text under PHP.
1) PHP multibyte support
Have you had any trouble compiling PHP with multibyte support? There were reports it could crash the Apache server and was quite unstable. Did you experience any problem? Do you know ready-to-run PHP rpms with multi-byte support?
2) Database multibyte support
Also, not all databases are multi-byte. Have you tested PostgreSQL multi-byte support?
