Hello Bertrand,

I haven't done any serious benchmarks to compare my class to other
template class.
While developing my template class, I tested my class using ereg*, preg* and
my impementation
of string search and replacement method. Accessing to my test script,
I was looking at CPU part of top(command) on my FreeBSD 4.4 box.
The numbers were
method CPU usage
ereg* 1.20%
preg* 0.45%
my method 0.05%
This is just one of the factor that I did not use regex for parsing
template.
Other reason is already said: I had to make sure it was multi-byte safe.
Since this is not a truely reliable benchmark and surely not a benchmark
against other template class, nobody should rely on this figure...
But maybe it gives you some idea.
I am applying for account at sourceforge.net. I will annouce it when it's
ready.
